We are thrilled to announce the launch of Happy Flakes sales in partnership with Gray Mackenzie Group, renowned for owning Lebanon's largest supermarket chain, Spinneys. This exciting development means that a range of breakfast cereals including corn flakes, cocoa balls, cocoa flakes, granola, and oat flakes are now available on the shelves of Spinneys Supermarket.
Our collaboration with Gray Mackenzie Group marks a significant milestone for Happy Flakes. In a meeting with Hassan Ezzeldine, the Chairman of Gray Mackenzie Group, we identified an opportunity to also introduce Happy Flakes to Happy supermarkets, a chain of smaller stores also owned by Mr. Ezzeldine.
Established in 1996, Gray Mackenzie Retail Lebanon S.A.L has been a trailblazer in the ownership and operation of supermarkets and hypermarkets in Lebanon. The company's flagship brand, Spinneys, re-entered the market in 1996, 23 years after ceasing operations during the civil war. Today, Gray Mackenzie Retail Lebanon (GMRL) boasts 16 Spinneys branches across the country.
In 2014, GMRL introduced the Happy Discount Store, a pioneering retail concept that has since gained popularity, with five branches currently in operation. Building on this success, GMRL expanded its footprint in 2018 by acquiring Grab'nGo Convenience Stores, adding 11 branches of the local convenience store chain to its portfolio.
Continuing its innovative streak, GMRL launched Signature by Spinneys in 2019, further diversifying its offerings to meet the evolving needs of consumers.
The collaboration between Happy Flakes and Gray Mackenzie Group represents a union of two esteemed brands, committed to providing quality products and exceptional customer experiences. We are excited about the opportunities this partnership will bring and look forward to serving customers at Spinneys Supermarket and Happy stores with our delicious range of breakfast cereals.
Stay tuned for more updates and exciting developments as we continue to grow and expand our presence in Lebanon's dynamic retail landscape.
